Salin de Giraud étant isolé entre les deux bras du Rhône et ne possèdant qu'une route en direction d'Arles, le seul moyen d'accéder aux villes de l'autre côté du Rhône, comme Port Saint Louis ou Fos sur Mer est de traverser le fleuve avec le bac de Barcarin, 50 mètres de long, peut transporter en 3 minutes environ 35 voitures
