Port constitué de deux bassins à flot reliés entre eux par les anciennes écluses
L’eau est retenue par les quais et les nouvelles écluses qui fonctionnent 2h30 avant et 2h30 après la pleine mer, soit cinq heures par marée, tous les jours de l’année. Les éclusages pour les bateaux se font à la demande, en entrée ou en sortie.
